As a production manager, finding a delicious but affordable catering service can be hard in Manhattan. Willow and Rose Catering provided our commercial shoot with remarkably exceptional and delightfully enjoyable food for a hungry film crew crowd. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

As a director of student and independent short films, I have come to fear mealtime above all other on-set disasters. With a crew that is working hard for little to no pay, and talent who more often than not bring excessively complicated dietary needs with them to set, feeding people well and staying within budget can easily become contradictory necessities. However, on my last short film I realized how simple it can be to keep everyone happy, even if you aren't paying them. Xina and Willow & Rose provided me with excellent food that prompted at least one SAG actor to exclaim, “Most features don't have grub this good!” as he devoured a large drumstick.

Willow and Rose did a phenomenal job catering our feature film "Fighting Fish." Xina Lewis and company made everyone feel as if they were dining at a four-star restaurant, three times a day. Even on a limited budget, Willow and Rose put together a delicous, varied, and healthy menu, incorporating cuisines from all over the world — including Chinese, American, Mexican, and South American. Xina shopped locally for the freshest seasonal and organic ingredients, and every meal accounted for dietary restrictions and preferences. Each warm meal ended with an exceptional dessert, and we received many well-loved culinary surprises — from birthday cakes to home-made fortune cookies on the day we shot our fortune cookie scene. I have worked on many film sets over the years, and Willow and Rose is hands down the most delicious — and professional — catering I have ever experienced.

I threw plenty of obstacles at my movie's caterer: last-minute scheduling changes, vegans, gluten allergies and an infinitesimally tiny budget. And yet for every meal, Xina Lewis and the people at Willow & Rose gave us healthy, delicious dishes that surpassed any craft services (and much restaurant fare) that I have ever experienced. My crew was constantly marveling at the variety and quality of the cuisine. Being pampered with delectable food made my cast and crew feel valued and they worked harder knowing that their effort was appreciated. I owe the cheerful atmosphere on my set to Willow & Rose. They were professional and friendly and I recommend them wholeheartedly.
